Community supporting elderly refugees

as part of its hummanitarian and commuinty support activities, Maria Foundation organized a distrubution of soap and salt to ederly people living in Nakivale refugee Settlement/Uganda. this initiatives aims to contribute to the well-being and dignity of ederly refugees, who often face difficulty living conditions and multiple challenges in their daily lives.

through this action,Maria Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting dignity, solidarity, protection and inclusion for vulnerable people.

Maria Foundation payed a visit to the community of Nakivale Refugee Settlement/Uganda, especially visiting eldery people living alone.This creates and promotes dignity,solidarity and protection and inclusion for vulnerble people.

Maria Foundation gave out chickens to ederly women in Nakivale Refugee Settlement/Uganda. As an act of encouraging work even at an old age where people can learn how to take care of domestic animals.

Awareness session on gender based violence/GBV in Nakivale settlement

Maria Foundation in collaboration with AFHI-UGANDA,organized an Awareness session for newly arrived refugees in nakivale refugees settlement on the prevention of gender-based violence including sexual violence. the activity aimed to increase awareness among new refugees about the different forms of GBV, their consequences,prevention measures and available reporting and refferal mechanisms for survivors to access protection and supportservives.

through this action,Maria Foundation and AFHI UGANDA reaffirm their commitement to promoting a safe,inclusive and violence free community, where everyone's rights and safety are respected.

Women were given an awareness about GBV/Gender Based violence by Maria Foundation. As Maria Foundation made the awareness this encouraged the women to know their rights and how to grow their families and a good community.

Maria Foundation organized a session for women in the community of Nakivale Refugee Settlement/Uganda to teach them about GBV. Empowering women, ensuring their rights are followed and how to take care of their responsibilities.

"PEACE BEGINS WITH ME"-Peace tournaments together with arts for children

Maria Foundation in collaboration with Charity Action, proudly organized a peace tournament bringing together children's football clubs from different nationalities living in nakivale refugee settlement/Uganda. through football and different games and enterntainment,children had opportunities to build friendship, unity,teamwork, respect and peaceful coexistence accross cultural and national differences. And through art for peace initiative,we encourage children to develop their creativity while becoming young ambassadors of peace in their communities.

the tournament reminded us that peace is not only the responsibility of leaders-it begins with each one of us, including children and young people.art also gives children a universal language to share their dreams, hopes and messages of peace. every drawing tells a story, every child carries a hope and every color can help build peace.

Our work in Nakivale Refugee Settlement is guided by their beleifs, and through community activities, outreach, empowerment initiatives, and humanitarian support, we continue to stand alongside vulnerable people and communities who need support. Many people in Nakivale continue to face challenges that cannot be adressed through one day activity or one day support. Children need opportunities, education, skills, and hope for the future. women and girls need safe spaces and opportunities for empowerment. ederly people and other vulnerable people with inclusion of people with disabilities need care, dignity and production. Communities need initiativies that create lasting opportunities rather than temporary solutions.
